Stockholm Fire Department 125 years!
Stockholm Fire Department will be reorganised.
Fire prevention work and Fire Brigade operations will be carried
out by the three new Areas/districts. Appointed
Area Commanders/Assistant Chief Fire Officers are Kjell Rognmo,
Torwald Snickars and Bengt Wall.
New Chief of Staff/Assistant Chief Fire Officer is Lars Hallander.
The Fire Chief Hans Lagerhorn and Deputy Ola Almgren will stay
in their position.The organisation will be in effect
by the end of the year.
In Stockholm there are nine fire stations manned
with 73 full time fire fighters. There are four
watches in a two shift system, with ten hours
day shift and fourteen hours night shift. Each
station has two fire and rescue trucks and one
turntable ladder. They are manned with at least
eight men.
Fire Safety has become more and more in focus.
Fire inspections, information and education of
the public are important issues.

Command vehicle 102 and the Command Control Center
The Command vehicle is operated by the Rescue Commander/Fire officer in Charge
and one fireman/Radio operator. The Command Control Center is located more than 25 meters under
Johannes Fire Station (HQ), and built as a
shelter to continue it's services at wartime.
