I graduated as Fire Engineer 1985 from the Swedish National Fire Academy (
University ). My first profession was as Fire Protection Engineer in a private
company. In 1989 I sort of changed profession and enroled the Stockholm Fire
Department. Since then I've worked both as Commanding Officer and, mainly, in
different positions at the Fire Safety Dpt. I'm now working as Assistant Chief
Officer, and Head of Fire Safety and Civil Protection Dpt.
I've
specialised in tunnel safety and firefighting in tunnels. Two reasons are that
we have a metro in Stockholm and have start to build an underground motorway in
the south of Stockholm. I was sent out by the Swedish Rescue Services Agency to
the disaster in the subway of Baku, Azerbadjan 1995 where nearly threehundred
people died due to a disastrous fire.
In April 1999 I joined
SWEPRO - Advanced Project Management as a consultant. Risk Management and Safety in
larger building projects are the main subjects of my job. Currently I'm involved
in a few large tunnel projects in Sweden. Two of them have their own websites
Citytunneln and Botniabanan.
