Small Town Dead:

At once my my greatest failure and my greatest triumph. Over twenty minutes of beautiful, ear soothing nonsense. I was dead set on making a cool vampire film in Swedish. The Swedish language does not lend itself to "cool" dialogue. I thought I could manage it. I could have succeeded if I didn´t have the misfortune to cast some of the worst thespians around, both in skill and commitment! After recutting it about three times over a period of several months, including dubbing the whole thing to English to try and put some b-movie feeling into it, I finally resigned and cut out almost all the films dialogue, making it essentially an extended rock´n´roll video. It looks great, it sounds great but the story went straight to hell. It was also an over-ambitious horror to produce. I basically juggled the cast and crew of about twenty as well as doing almost all other behind-camera work. I was even threatened while shooting one sequence, by a muscle bound idiot in a red sportscar that rammed right through our road blocks, which we had permits for! Add to that, cast members not showing up for the incredibly tight schedule and the main actor chopping himself in the knee with an axe with only one day left to shoot! I did however manage to pull off a couple of feats with its miniscule budget, like making it rain blood and adding realistic muzzle flashes to the guns since I couldn´t afford squibs!
