This is
my first really serious attempt at designing a game with the
goal of actually having it published. I am still in the very
early stages of planning it and have only done a some brain
storming and concept artwork for it.
The Five
Cities is set on a fictional world near identical to our own
but for the fact that mysticism and even magic of a kind exist.
It takes place about two hundred years after a global disaster.
The story centers around five thriving communities on a heavily
wooded continent. The world as it is has been built with the
remnants of what was, but the landscape has recovered and is
once again lush and green. Only the surviving technology reminds
of what was.
The player
takes the role of a wanderer trying to survive. A little like
a planet based Elite, the player is free to do as he/she pleases.
The player can be a bounty hunter, a trader, a theif or just
about anything in between. There will be a "larger"
storyline to take part in, the player will be free to ignore
it and take part as much as he/she likes. The politics of the
five cities will evolve around the player, and be influenced
by his/her actions. The scale of interaction can range from
performing solo missions to just diplomacy and subterfuge or
even leading a full scale army. The game will take place in
real time, with combat being tacitcal and turn based on battlefileds
of varying size, from small rooms of an inn, to whole cityscapes
and fields.
The images
on this page will serve to give a general idea of the look and
feel of the game world. Example interfaces will come soon.
