George Harrison was born February 25. 1943, in Liverpool, George was interested in music from childhood. In school at the Liverpool institute, he formed a band called "the Rebels". He was friends with schoolmate Paul McCartney, who later joined John Lennon's band - "the Quarry Men". At the age of 15, George joined the band, which was to become the Beatles.

Over the course of the Beatles' career, Harrison was a gutarist, singer and songwriter. He made a lasting mark on the Beatles' play list, writing songs such as "I Need You", "Taxman", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Something" and "Here comes the sun", to name a few. He developed as a composer of stature in his early twenties.

When the Beatles disbanded as an activ group in 1970, he released his own three-recording set, "All Things Must Pass", which was acclaimed by his peers as having established Harrison as a solo recordings artist of real worth, with a spiritual dimension which belied his age and the confines of the popular music business.

In 1965, Harrison met and became a pupil of Ravi Shakar, the noted Indian sitar player and composer. During this period he began to pursue Indian-based spiritual values. Through study and meditation George saw possibilities for the human condition far beyond everyday mundanities. Eastern influences permeated the Beatles music during their remaining years.

Trough the 1970s and 1980s, George Harrison made many well-regarded albums on his own record label, Dark Horse, and developed interests in horiculture, rare books, writing, car racing and film production. He has been involved with the production of several films, including Monty Python's "Life of Brian", "The Time Bandits" and "With nail and I". In 1971, George Harrison organized the Consert for Bangla Desh, setting a precedent for other major rock benefits to come. The concert arose from Harrison's close relationship with Ravi Shakar who appeared in the show at Madison Square Garden, along with Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton and many others.

Harrison recorded an award-winning album "Cloud Nine", in the 1980s and also put together a new rock group, The Traveling Wilburys, with Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. The Wilburys wrote and recorded two successful albums. George Harrison is married to Olivia and has one son, Dhani 17.

In the late 1999 George Harrison was stabbed by a burglar who had broke into his house, Harrison made a fight with the thief and managed to overran him whit a knife in his back. Harrison survived and is in good health. The thief got to go to prison.
