At New Year in Sweden, there isn't an Auld Lang Syne to be heard. Instead, people celebrate by letting off fireworks at midnight, and there is always a good display over Brottkärr. We usually eat a good dinner, and then, although Mary doesn't like me to let off fireworks myself, the whole family goes outside at midnight to enjoy the show. In the past the boys have been a little frightened, but this year everyone enjoyed it -- even if Liam needed his hand held before he dared come outside!
