1996/97: One more win than loss and odd number of draws. 1999/2000: Two more goals scored than conceded. 2000/01: Bloemfontein Celtic had three points deducted for fielding an inelligible player. 2002/03: Before this season Ria Stars and Free State Stars were bought out (!) to reduce fixture congestion. Why just these two is unknown. 2003/04: Silver Stars had three points deducted for fielding an inelligible player. AmaZulu prev. Zulu Royals. Ajax Cape Town = merger of Seven Stars and Cape Town Spurs. Bidwest Wits prev. Wits University. Free State Stars prev. Qwa Qwa Stars. Platinum Stars prev. Silver Stars. Thanda Royal Zulu prev. Hellenic and Benoni Premier United, respectively; from Cape Town. Umtata Bush Bucks prev. Umtata Bucks and Bush Bucks, respectively. Warriors later on called African Warriors. Polokwane City prev. Bay United (Port Elizabeth).
