The Gibson Les Paul Jr was introduced in 1955 with a single
cutaway. In December of 1958 it was changed from a single cutaway to
a double cutaway design. In 1960 the name was changed to SG Jr, but
the guitar did not change shape until 1961 when it received the
sharp-cornered SG shape. In 1965 a Gibson Vibrola was added. In 1967
the pickguard was enlarged (see SG jr '67) . In 1970 the model was
dropped.
