Welding Procedure Specification

Welding processes are widely used to fabricate many of the constructions of the engineering industry and in some companies they are the key feature of production. Such construction may range from pressure vessels to domestic and agricultural equipment and include items such as cranes, bridges and other welded structures. As such, welding exerts a profound influence on the cost of fabrication and performance on the product.

Welding Procedure Specifications have to be correctly formulated and approved to avoid imperfections.

Via this form, it is possible to have a WPS made for a specifical application in your company. HighTech Consulting will use the data you put into this form for working out a WPS.

The costs will be:

NOTE:

Do you want an offer for a WPS as you are going to detail hereafter or do you want to receive the WPS as soon as possible?

My option:

Give hereafter the required details for the required WPS, conforming to your application!

Materials

Material A:

Material coding A (According to what standard has the material being fabricated - leave open when not known).

Material coding A:

Material thickness A (mm) (Thickness of this material A)

Thickness A:

Diameter A (The diameter of this material. - fill in nothing if plate)

Diameter A:

Parent material B (Name of the 2nd material that shall be welded - fill in nothing when equal A to the first material).

Material B:

Material coding B (According to what standard has the material being fabricated - leave open when not known).

Material coding B:

Thickness B (mm) (The thickness of this material - fill in nothing when equal to the first material)

Welding process details

Give the required process for the first layer. When all layers will be done with the same welding process, it must be filled in here. Afterwards the desired consumablewelding consumables and the welding position for the first layer is requested.

Welding process for the first (or all) layer(s):

Do you want a specificwelding consumables of consumables for this process named in the WPS?

Other welding consumables:

Fill out only when an "Other welding consumables" is specified above. Otherwise leave this open.

In which welding position must the first layer be welded?

(ISO identification first, ASME/AWS identification thereafter). Welding position first welding process:

Do you want a second welding process to be used in the same joint?

Give the details here. Second welding process is required:

Option: Do you want a specificwelding consumables of consumables for this process named in the WPS?

Other welding consumables 2:

Option: Fill out only when an "Other welding consumables" is specified above. Otherwise leave this open.

In what welding position do you want the following layers to be welded? (ISO identification first, ASME/AWS identification thereafter). Welding position second welding process is:

Joint configuration

When the desired joint configuration is known, describe it here. When not known, accept the selection "no requirements":

Give the dimensions of the desired joint configuration.

If you don't know them, leave the space open, The HighTech Consulting will determine the most economic values himself. In case you desired for "Other joint configuration" when selecting the "Joint configuration", give the type you want. In case of complex joint configurations, please submit a sketch by Fax.. Miscellaneous

This are some other questions that are important.

In case of Charpy-requirements, you should click here and fill in the desired temperature below.

Charpy degrees Centigrade:

In case of hardness requirements (maximum hardness) click here and fill in the required maximum hardness in Hv below.

Standard and / or Code

A WPS is always made according to a specific standard or code. This depends on your contract. When there is no specific standard or code in your contract, the general European Standard EN 288 (equivalent to ISO 9956) may be acceptable. In case of any doubts, please contact your client and/or the inspection agency.

Other standard code:

Standard edition:

Date of issue of the standard / code (don't fill out if not known).
